The Israeli Ministry of Education is hosting an international education conference on the theme: Come Design the Future and Co-create a Teaching Compass, concurrent to the annual OECD event of Education 2030, to be held 31 May-2 June 2022 in Jerusalem, in the National Congress center.
The three-day conference will take place in both the physical and virtual realms and will include plenary sessions, an EdFair Pavilion, lectures, workshops, field visits and an exclusive digital navigation platform. The event format aims to maximize opportunities for experiential, participant-initiated learning and peer-based co-creation.
Conference speakers will include Mr. Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills at the OECD, computer scientist and educational theorist Professor Sugata Mitra, Israeli Minister of Education Dr. Yifat Shasha Biton, Director General of the Ministry, Ms. Dalit Stauber, and other local and international experts in educational innovation.
El Ministerio de Educación de Israel organiza una conferencia de educación internacional sobre el tema: Venga a diseñar el futuro y co-crear una brújula de enseñanza, concurrente con el evento anual de la OCDE de Educación 2030, que se llevará a cabo del 31 de mayo al 2 de junio de 2022 en Jerusalén, en el centro Nacional de Congresos.
La conferencia de tres días se llevará a cabo tanto en el ámbito físico como en el virtual e incluirá sesiones plenarias, un Pabellón EdFair muy rico y relevante, conferencias, espacios de creación, talleres, visitas de campo y una plataforma de navegación digital exclusiva. El formato del evento tiene como objetivo maximizar las oportunidades para el aprendizaje experiencial iniciado por los participantes y la creación conjunta entre pares.
Los oradores de la conferencia incluirán al Sr. Andreas Schleicher, Director de Educación y Habilidades de la OCDE, el científico informático y teórico de la educación, el Profesor Sugata Mitra, la Ministra de Educación de Israel, la Dra. The morning hours will be dedicated to "new assessment" and familiarity with future oriented objectives of examinations. In the afternoon we will visit the EdFair "Biennale for Innovation in Education" which deals with a variety of inspiring topics: teachers' agency, teachers' skills required to prepare students for the future, teachers' well-being and the role of principals in relation to development of agency, well-being and teachers' and students’ competencies, SEL, information and inspiration booths, Makers activity complexes, mini-lectures, salon talks, exhibitions and more.
In the morning we will visit schools throughout Jerusalem (west and east regions) according to topics: art schools, bilingual schools, dialogue schools, forest kindergartens and more. We will get to know the models and challenges; observe the activities and we'll talk to teachers and students at each site.
In the afternoon we will visit the EdFair again (techno-pedagogical workshops, SEL activities, information and inspiration booths, Maker's activity complexes, mini-lectures, salon talks, exhibitions and more) to address questions related to teacher training and professional development, and how to adapt them to the latest learning compass and curricula, in a changing reality. We will be exposed to a stock of pedagogical and effective practices, some of which are radical.
In the evening, the Jerusalem Municipality will host us in a Gala Evening Opposite the Old City’s walls.
The OECD team will present a new curriculum analysis document and update on the outline of the emerging teaching compass.
